On 17 May, ONRS hosted an interview with Linor Goralik, one of the most influential voices in contemporary Russian-language literature. The conversation delved into the intersections of art, politics, and personal expression in times of intense sociopolitical turmoil.

The event opened with a discussion of _Resistance and Opposition Arts Review (ROAR)_, an antiwar journal that Linor and her team have published bimonthly since March 2022. Available in multiple languages, ROAR has become a notable platform for antiwar poetry, prose, music, and visual art.

The latter half of the interview explored her latest novel, _Bobo_, a story of an elephant wandering through modern-day, dystopian Russia. Initially a diplomatic gift from the Turkish sultan to the Russian tsar, Bobo’s journey through over twenty cities, ending in Orenburg, symbolises a bildungsroman in a state rife with police oppression and propaganda. The novel was withheld from release in Russia to avoid political repercussions, with Linor sharing it on her website for unrestricted access.** **
